7 Homes That Are A Total Surprise On The Inside

Here’s something you might not know about PropertyPal…

We look at every single property that gets listed on our website.  Every. Single. One.

We do this for two reasons:

  1. To double check that all the information is correct
  2. To find those showstopper homes to feature on our Facebook, Instagram and Twitter accounts

(and also because we’re nosy and there’s nothing more fun than looking inside people’s houses…)

Over the years we’ve learned that you should never judge a book by its cover, or rather never judge a house by its front door. Often the most incredible homes are ones that are modest and unassuming from the outside but 10/10 jaw dropping dream homes on the inside.

There’s nothing we love more than simple mid terrace properties with next-level contemporary design inside. Or when a tiny little bungalow turns out to be the Tardis when you open the front door.

With that in mind, we thought we’d bring you a collection of our favourite homes that are a total surprise on the inside:

1 Ballynafern Road, Banbridge – £295,950

The home is undeniably striking from the outside with its thatched water reed roof and cottage aesthetic but what’s particularly striking is the huge indoor heated swimming pool that’s hiding in there!

149 Knock Road, Belfast – Asking price £285,000

This East Belfast home has been extensively renovated and while it looks simple and contemporary on the outside, the real treat is inside where you’ll find a huge, stylish open plan kitchen and dining area that will have your jaw on the floor.

18 Bridge Street, Killyleagh – Offers over £175,000

Granted there aren’t a lot of exterior shots of this property but even from the cropped front door image, you would never guess what lies behind there. Once inside you’re greeted with an incredibly modern property that’s been finished to a sensational standard with stylish details such as the exposed brick walls and beautiful neutral colour palette.

15 Maryville Park, Belfast – Offers over £525,000

This property is a terrific mix of old meets new. From the outside, the double bay fronted exterior gives the home a period feel but inside it’s exceptionally contemporary (exhibit A – the neon green kitchen). The back of the house offers serious juxtaposition to the front; with a brand new extension that has floor-to-ceiling windows and glass panels overlooking the garden.

26 Birch Lane, Saintfield – Offers around £215,000

This simple semi-detached home is really something else on the inside. We were expecting a modern design but not on this level. The interior is breathtaking with Scandi style interiors and the white colour scheme with gives it plenty of light.

35 Slievecoole Park, Belfast – Offers around £280,000

This is one of the Tardis homes we were talking about. This unassuming bungalow is deceptively spacious with four large bedrooms and a semi-open plan kitchen area which would be great for entertaining.

22 Lislagan Road, Ballymoney – Offers around £275,000

Another home with a complete surprise swimming pool. Whilst it undoubtedly looks like a large family home from the outside we still weren’t expecting a swimming pool and definitely not one of that size. Perfect for a pool party!
