Tiny Apartment transforms into 24 different rooms
What do you do when you are really tight for space, and still want the benefits of modern living? As space is at a premium in China, sometimes really clever design is used to great effect.
In Hong Kong, because of the space, apartments are small and expensive. Gary Chang, an architect, decided to design a 344 sq. ft. apartment to be able to change into 24 different designs, all by just sliding panels and walls. He calls this the “Domestic Transformer.”
The results are interesting to say the least, with user friendliness and efficient design being a key feature throughout. The main design feature of the home is a sliding box wall, which gives the ability to switch between the multi-functional rooms, and is sure to be used in future homes where space is an issue.
