5 simple DIY projects for home inspiration

In the mood for a little home inspiration with minimal perspiration? If you are on a budget for home decor, or indeed, if you are feeling particularly creative, following on from our previous post on home decor ideas, we’ve curated a couple more  crafty DIY projects here that anyone can do to enhance their home.  Whether you are a master or an amateur, you are sure to find a project here that will suit your skill level.

1) DIY Photo Clipboards.

Create a rustic photo frame the will look great in any room of the house with some simple instruction from the Love Grows Wild blog.


2) Wallpapered Fridge

Add life to an old Fridge, with a simple injection of wallpaper. Sand down the fridge initially as best you can, apply the wallpaper, and then a clear varnish over the top to seal, and all of a sudden you’ve got a brand new feature in your kitchen.


3) Stacked Crates as Chic Shelving

Crates have made something of a comeback when it comes to home decor, with alot of people after that shabby chic look. Gina’s post over on Acute Designs shows how easy it is to achieve the look.

4) Decals for Kitchen Organisation


The painted hive blog offers a tutorial on enhancing otherwise plain IKEA jars, with some printed decals.

5) Mini Mud Room – DIY boot storage

I love this. DIY boot storage, by gluing down some stones into the bottom of a wooden crate, you can create your own mini mud room.
